FC Schalke 04 have secured the services of another home-grown talent. Before leaving to join the Cameroon national team, who play Italy in a friendly in Monaco on Wednesday, Joel Matip put pen to paper on a professional contract that is set to run until 30 June 2013.

A run of four months without conceding a goal at home ended for the Royal Blues against BVB, but missing out on a record was the least of anyone’s worries by the end. DFB Cup draw: Schalke to entertain Bayern Munich

"Well there you go, a home game," grinned Felix Magath after Women's World Cup winner Nadine Angerer had handed the Royal Blues a tie with Bayern Munich when making the draw in Osnabrück. The match will take place at the VELTINS Arena on Tuesday, 23 March, or Wednesday, 24 March.  Read more
