Duisburg friendly cancelled

The friendly between MSV Duisburg and FC Schalke 04 scheduled for Sunday 29 January has been cancelled. Both clubs have agreed to call the game off due to a lack of available players. The friendly between the 2011 DFB Cup finalists was scheduled to take place at 11 am (CET) at the Westender Strasse stadium in Duisburg.

Cologne cannot come soon enough for Huntelaar

Schalke's leading goalscorer is in no mood to wait. If Klaas-Jan Huntelaar had his way, he would contest the next Bundesliga match (Saturday 28 January, 1830 CET) tomorrow. Höwedes undergoes successful op

Benedikt Höwedes suffered a triple fracture to his cheekbone in an accidental collision with Marco Höger in the Bundesliga home game against VfB Stuttgart on Saturday. Today (Monday) he underwent surgery at a Recklinghausen hospital.  Read more

Schalke start the year on song with win over Stuttgart

FC Schalke 04 recorded a deserved 3-1 victory against VfB Stuttgart in the first game back after the mid-season break on Saturday. Joel Matip, Kyriakos Papadopoulos and Julian Draxler got the goals for the Royal Blues in front of a full house before Shinji Okazaki grabbed a consolation goal for the visitors three minutes before the end. FC Schalke 04 have secured the services of youth-team player Kaan Ayhan for the foreseeable future. The versatile midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the Royal Blues from 1 July 2013 until 30 June 2015.   Read more

Schalke defeat Vitesse in final warm-up match

Schalke sign Roman Neustädter

Roman Neustädter will play for the Royal Blues from the 2012/2013 season. The defensive midfielder will join Schalke from Borussia Mönchengladbach on a four-year deal on July 1. No fee will be paid for Neustädter, 23, as his contract with the Foals expires at the end of this season.  Read more
