Swiss under-21 international Mario Gavranovic completes Schalke move

FC Schalke 04 have dipped into the transfer market once again just before the window slams shut, completing the signing of Mario Gavranovic from Swiss first division side Neuchâtel Xamax. Hao Junmin will become the first Chinese player in the club's 105-year history to pull on a Royal Blue shirt after joining Schalke from Tianjin Teda FC. The 22-year-old China international has been handed a contract that will keep him in Gelsenkirchen until 30 June 2011.  Read more

Schalke and club foundation to support Haiti

The Schalke foundation, Schalke hilft! (Schalke helps!) has decided to donate 100,000 euros with immediate effect to help the victims of the earthquake on the Caribbean island. In addition, the Schalke senior squad will visit Haiti to see the situation for themselves.

Derby on a Friday evening as DFL announces matchdays 23 to 27
