In the first game to be staged at the Glückaufkampfbahn stadium after it is rebuilt, Schalke defeat Westfalia Herne 5-0.

Schalke record their highest ever win in an official league game, 20-0 away to SpVgg. Herten.

First game in the Oberliga West - 2-2 away to Hamborn 07. Schalke fail to become Westphalian champions for the first time since 1934.

Schalke finish only 12th in the Oberliga but are saved from relegation as the Oberliga is increased from 13 to 16 teams.

Ernst Kuzorra and Fritz Szepan end their legendary careers with a game against the Brazilian champions Atletico Mineiro.

Schalke lose yet another Cup Final, this time 3-2 against SC Karlsruhe. Two goals by "Catcher" Sadlowski to put them 2-1 up are not enough.

Schalke become champions of the Oberliga West for the second time.

Schalke defeat SV Hamburg 3-0 to secure their seventh German championship. Berni Klodt (2) and Manni Kreuz get the goals in the final in Hannover.

First ever Bundesliga game at the Glückaufkampfbahn. Schalke beat VfB Stuttgart 2-0 in front of 30,000 fans.
