Schalke go straight back up as Second Division Champions.

The 18-year-old Olaf Thon scores three in the legendary 6-6 draw with Bayern Munich in the cup semi-final. Further goals from Thomas Kruse, Peter Stichler and Bernhard Dietz get the Schalke fans celebrating.

Promotion to the Bundesliga.

Schalke are relegated to Division 2 for the third time.

After a three-year absence, Schalke win promotion back to the Bundesliga.
