Two Schalke players had a hand in the Germany under-21 side's 2-0 victory over Scotland in Cumbernauld on Tuesday night.
In the first half Manuel Neuer kept goal for Dieter Eilts's team, though he had very little to do. While Neuer was replaced at half-time, Sebastian Boenisch slotted in at left-back for his debut at this level. And the 20-year-old almost made a second for Germany just seconds after coming on, but from his cross Hertha BSC Berlin's Patrick Ebert was denied by the Scotland keeper.
