On Tuesday morning there was a new face at the Schalke training complex in Denmark under-21 international Brian Nielsen. And Wednesday morning's session also featured a new triallist, with the Royal Blues running the rule over Bogdan Müller.
The 21-year-old striker is under contract with Spielvereinigung Neckarelz, a sixth-tier club from Baden who this year made it through to the first round proper of the DFB Cup, where they lost 3-1 to Bayern Munich at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim.
Brian Nielsen did not take part in the session, however. "He pulled out with a muscle problem today", explained Felix Magath. But the Schalke boss is expecting two other players to return soon. "Vasileios Pliatsikas will resume training this afternoon and I hope that Marcelo Bordon will be back out in the fresh air again tomorrow", he said.
Also missing was Jermaine Jones, who underwent a personal session. Magath said: "Jermaine trained elsewhere today. He's working very diligently at the moment."
