Denmark under-21 international arrives on trial

Felix Magath welcomed a new face to the first training session in December on Tuesday morning after handing 22-year-old Dane Brian Nielsen a two-day trial with the club.
"We want to have a look at him", explained Magath. Nielsen, who has made nine under-21 appearances for Denmark and is currently under contract to second division side Vejle Boldklub, can play on the left or in the middle of attack. "He's a young lad with a future", the Schalke boss said.
Asked what had brought Nielsen to his attention, Magath joked: "I was surfing on the Internet and stumbled across the name Brian Nielsen." Moments later he revealed the truth, however, saying: "Like me, my two assistant coaches Seppo Eichkorn and Bernd Hollerbach know a lot of players and we discuss them all the time. In Nielsen's case we all agreed that we should invite him to come and train with us."
