"Well there you go, a home game," grinned Felix Magath after Women's World Cup winner Nadine Angerer had handed the Royal Blues a tie with Bayern Munich when making the draw in Osnabrück. The match will take place at the VELTINS Arena on Tuesday, 23 March, or Wednesday, 24 March.
The tie is a repeat of the 2002 semi-final, which Schalke won 2-0 after extra-time thanks to goals by Marco van Hoogdalem und Jörg Böhme before going on to lift the DFB Cup.
"Bayern are obviously a tough draw, but I'm glad we're at home," said Benedikt Höwedes. "We want to get to the final in Berlin and with our fans behind us we can do it."
