Heldt: Work hard in Doha, then clock up the points

Horst Heldt has praised the conditions in the Aspire Zone.|Copyright: firo sportphoto"We've put ourselves a good position in the Bundesliga," said Horst Heldt during the first session of the winter training camp in Doha on Thursday morning. "It's now down to us to clock up the points in the second half of the season."

The gap to seventh place – the first position that fails to qualify for a European competition – already provides a good cushion. "Obviously we want to hold onto that lead or, even better, extend it," Heldt added.

The Royal Blues are laying the foundations for this target in Qatar. "The conditions are outstanding," said Heldt before adding: "There was a rumour in Germany a few days ago that the training facilities in the Aspire Zone were in poor condition. But whoever said that can't have been looking in the right place."
