Moravek almost lost for words after scoring

Jan Moravek made his mark in a big way just seconds after coming on as a substitute against Hannover, scoring with his first touch to make it 2-0. "I'm very happy", said the Czech in presentable German after the final whistle, "Sorry, I need a minute to gather myself. I'm lost for words."

When assistant coach Bernd Hollerbach called the 20-year-old midfielder over to the substitutes bench just before the end of normal time, he was there in seconds, stripped ready for action. And he was just as quick once he was on the pitch. " It's an incredible feeling to score in front of so many people", he said proudly. Moravek is keeping his feet firmly on the ground, though. He said: "I have to keep working on my game in training to make sure I get picked again."

Asked what he needs to work on, he replied: "On everything! I'm young and can improve in lots of areas. In the Bundesliga the game is played much faster than in the Czech second division, where I played for Bohemians", he said, forgetting to mention one small point. Thanks to his goals the longstanding club from the Czech capital sealed promotion to the first division last season.
