Pander undergoes knee surgery

The Royal Blues will be without Christian Pander for the next few weeks after the 25-year-old had his fifth operation on his left knee on Monday.
The surgery was conducted by Dr Ulrich Boenisch at the Hessingpark Clinic in Augsburg and was made necessary by an injury to the medial collateral ligament. Pander will leave the clinic on Thursday and return to Schalke to begin rehab.
